New Technologies & New Plans for Action
Fox River Watershed Student Conference
Tuesday March 7th
8am-2: 30pm
Performance Hall - Judson College
- Join 3rd Grade through College age students, their teachers, and local Environmental Management Professionals for an action oriented Conference. Students from 7 schools will present their FOXMap Fall findings, and offer conclusions based upon their different watershed studies. Professionals will demonstrate how they use GPS & GIS technologies to obtain local watershed information. Together, the students, teachers, and professionals will develop a plan of action for this Spring & next Fall for collecting additional data (FOXMap Phase 2), and draft a set of recommendations for local decision makers to protect water quality.
- Come & find-out what was done, what needs to be done, and become a part of the Fox River Monitoring Network / FOXMap initiative.
- Leave the conference with a plan for getting students into the process of protecting a valuable resource.
- The Public is welcome to attend.
