Friends of the Fox River (FOFR) is looking for entries from amateur and professional photographers that best convey the theme “Your Fox River Watershed”. The entries can be either black and white or color and may be traditional film stock or digital photos printed on high quality film stock. Photos are to be 8’ x 10” or 11” x 14” and must be mounted on matte board.
The categories are People Experiencing Nature; Wildlife; Landscapes; River Violations, and River Rescue. River Rescuce can be photos taken at any of the clean-ups, stream monitoring activities or steam bank restoration/river plantings. The five categories are divided in amateur and professional divisions. All entries must have been taken within the Fox River Watershed and the location the photo was taken must be identified.
The deadline for entries is Friday, September 8th at 5pm. Mail entries to Friends of the Fox River, P.O. Box 1314, Crystal Lake, IL 60039-1314.

Certificates will be awarded to the top three photos in each category and FOFR will create a traveling exhibit of the award winners to be displayed at various nature centers and other locations up and down the watershed.
Anyone who would like to see last year’s winners from the 2005 Photos Contest can visit Prairieview Education Canter, 2112 Behan Road, Crystal Lake through July or view them at Friends of the Fox River website.
