Dear Friends,
We are excited to announce the First Annual EL CARDUNAL, a 10-mile kayak and canoe paddle, from Algonquin to Elgin on June 22, 2025.
We invite you to join the Carpentersville, Dundee, and Algonquin communities in this celebration of the National Park System’s designation of the Fabulous Fox! Water Trail and our shared stewardship of the Fabulous Fox! watershed. The National Park Service has designated thousands of recreational trails, yet there are only 43 water trails. It is an honor and an accomplishment that our Fox River is among them.
The celebration will conclude in East Dundee with food, music, entertainment, and sponsor displays promoting preservation and restoration of the Fox River watershed. Future paddling events may include Elgin too.
