Event canceled due to health reasons. The Carpentersville Dam was removed and the Fox River is now in year two of recovery. Last year’s educational paddle revealed the early gains, but now we are on year two, and there is even more to see. Don’t forget we had an epic flooding situation this spring. How did that section of the river fare? What did it teach us about the river’s ability to cope with such weather events ?

There are understandably push backs on these initiatives from some boaters, sportsmen and property owners. Our host from Friends of the Fox does not shy away from the scrutiny, but rather explains the biology and timetable related to full recovery.

We will meet at the put in and immediately do shuttling to the takeout. This year we are going further down river because last year people hated to get off the river so soon!

We will then meet back at the put in for an orientation. We hope to be on the river by 11:00 am.
