IDOT Announces Public Meetings to Present Recommended Routes for Prairie Parkway
The Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) recently announced two open houses that the public is invited to attend regarding recommended alternative sites for the Prairie Parkway. At these open houses, IDOT will present their recommended routes for the Parkway which will be subject to further study.
According to IDOT, “. . .IDOT will present recommended alternatives to be further studied as choices for the best solution. These alternatives represent a blend of the public’s suggestions and comments; minimizing impacts on the environment and structures; and how well they address the four main parts of the purpose and need statement: improve regional mobility, address local system deficiencies, improve access from the study area to regional jobs, and improve safety.
At the open house, you will be updated on the study, have an opportunity to review exhibits and participate in a question and answer forum with IDOT representatives, which will begin at 6:30 PM each day.”
Friends of the Fox River would strongly encourage the public to attend one of the informational open houses to become better informed and to express their opinions on the alternatives proposed by IDOT.
Friends of the Fox River will continue to provide updates on timely issues pertinent to the Prairie Parkway and other issues affecting the Fox River watershed.
