You and your family are invited to join us on the 2nd Saturday of each month for an outdoor adventure as we explore special places along the Fox River and throughout its watershed. Learn what a watershed is. See how the Fox River was formed, Visit the special natural areas that make the Fox River Valley an important ecosystem, flyway and fishery.
We’re offering this new outdoor activity program as a companion to our well established and popular 2nd Sunday’s at SEC series of free public presentations. Like the indoor 2nd Sundays program, our 2nd Saturday’s outdoor family activities will be open to all and FREE!
March’s 2nd Saturday is on the same day as the Thom McNamee Memorial St. Patrick’s Day parade in downtown East Dundee and Friends of the Fox River (FOFR) will have a float. We encourage Second Saturday’s Outdoor Adventure families to attend this fun event and cheer on FOFR’s float featuring the new Northwind 16 canoe in our new Canoe Raffle Fundraiser as we pass by in the parade. Please support our fundraising efforts to expand our environmental education programs like Second Saturday Outdoor Adventures by buying raffle tickets. Take a chance on education and help us teach our children well.
