Crystal Lake Green Drinks – Rain Gardens in McHenry County

April 2 @ 5:00 pm

The next Green Drinks presentation will be on Wednesday April 2nd, 2025 5 PM at Duke’s Alehouse and Kitchen in Crystal Lake.

Everyone is all a-Buzz about polliator gardens, but if you really love our planet, here’s a way to do double-duty: plant a rain garden. Sure rain gardens are beautiful, but also provide important habitat for butterflies and birds and are an important citizens’ solution to help protect our precious water supply.

Nancy Gonsiorek of The WPPC will explain what makes rain gardens so effective, which plants are suitable and where to find them, and how to plant a rain garden in your own yard.

The WPPC is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and is dedicated to promoting the use of native plants in the landscape through preservation, education and propagation. Learn about their programs at TheWPPC.org

Zoom may be available for this presentation with a link released the date of the event at www.mcdef.org if not on the landing page, then check the calendar. Zoom may no longer be available for all meetings. To request accomodations, contact the Environmental Defenders at 815.338.0393
