Boy Scout Troop 13 will host their second annual Fox Rescue River Clean-Up with the Friends of the Fox River on Saturday, October 3rd from 9 am until 12 pm. The group is seeking volunteers to come out and help pick up trash and debris to give back to our river and community.

Last year nearly 30 volunteers were able to remove about 600 lbs of trash from the banks of the Fox River. This year the group hopes to double that record!

Volunteers should meet at the Holman House, 1145 N 5th Ave (Rt. 25) which is across from Bethlehem Lutheran Church. Please wear appropriate footwear. Gloves, bags and other equipment are provided through a generous grant program through the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency. If you would like to volunteer and you have questions please contact Event Coordinator Jay Schmid at (630) 485-5103 or Jenni Kempf with the Friends of the Fox River at 815 356 6605. Please join us as we “Keep on Fixin’ the Fox.”
