“Landscaping for a Healthier Life” is the theme of the 2017 DuPage Environmental Summit on Thursday, January 19 from 8:30 a.m. to noon at the NIU Naperville Meeting and Conference Center.
This free seminar is open to community leaders, conservation groups, and anyone interested in learning more about getting involved in local conservation activities to improve the environment.
Presented by The Conservation Foundation and DuPage County, the Summit features environmental exhibits and workshops on the positive effect trees have on the overall environment.
Research shows trees clean the air and water, help reduce stormwater runoff, and provide critical habitat for wildlife, as well as improve mental health. Various speakers will talk about the regional Chicago area forest canopy and the challenges faced in managing these urban forests.
