Activism Fair at Dundee-Crown

February 17, 2017 @ 9:45 am - 3:00 pm

The Youth Labor Committee

is a student-led human rights organization based out of Dundee-Crown High School in Carpentersville, IL, that helps fight against unfair labor practices, such as the use of sweatshops and child labor. Another major component of their mission is to raise awareness about activism in our community and among our peers. Because of this, we host an annual Activism Fair at Dundee-Crown which involves dozens of activist organizations from around the state coming to our school to inform students about the respective causes.

Modeled after the WBEZ Activism Fair

the Youth Labor Committee’s Activism Fair features booths for the various organizations to display their cause and even sell merchandise. Last year’s Fair was a great success: we had groups in attendance and had a big crowd of students who were eager to learn more about the different groups and their awareness. This Activism Fair is a great opportunity for these activist organizations to reach a young audience as well as network with other activist groups.
