Friends of the Fox River Annual Meeting – Public Welcome
November 7, 2016 @ 7:00 pm - 7:45 pmFree
You are invited join the Board of Friends of the Fox River in celebrating our progress and successes over the past year at our Annual Meeting on Monday, November 7th at 7 p.m. at Schweitzer Environmental Center, 16N900 Sleepy Hollow Road in West Dundee. We will begin with a presentation of “The State of FOFR” by President Gary Swick. Please RSVP below.
Over the last year FOFR has begun a metamorphosis by revamping our Web site, hiring our first paid Executive Director and beginning a strategic planning process that we hope will lead to new projects, programs, and a larger, more active board, membership and volunteer base. New board members and staff have brought new energy and ambition to our mission and organization, and we want to share our vision for the future of FOFR with you.
Meet our new Executive Director Gary Mechanic and hear our plans for an exciting watershed event next spring. Outreach Educator Katie Meyer will give us a brief look at the programs and events she’s planning for Schweitzer Environmental Center in 2017.
Gary Swick will introduce and conduct an election of the 2017 Slate of Officers, followed by a brief but inspiring documentary film about our local eco-hero “The Fox,” also known as James F. Phillips, who Wikipedia describes as an American environmental activist. We’ll conclude the annual meeting by reviewing and approving the 2017 Budget and the Board committee’s work plans.
Following the Annual Meeting, the Board will conduct its monthly Board meeting and you are welcome to stay for this exciting event, or not.
The Annual Meeting will begin promptly at 7:00 p.m. and conclude by 7:45 p.m. Parking is free and available adjacent to the center, at the dog park parking lot down the hill, and at the Dundee Township barn, just south on Sleepy Hollow Road. Kindly RSVP.
