River Trip #3

Jon Duerr Woods to Ferson Creek Park – 4.45 miles

We’ll begin our trip at the Jon Duerr Woods Canoe Launch at a geologically interesting place on the river. We’ll paddle past the “Five Islands”, around the largest and sharpest big bend in the river.  Then it’s an easy paddle to the take-out beach at Ferson Creek Park.

General Trip Schedule

• River trip (canoe and kayak) participants will meet at the “Take-Out”.
• Volunteer shuttle drivers shuttle paddlers to the “Put-In”.
• At the launch site we will review basic paddling strokes and techniques, discuss safety on the river, fit and adjust gear & boats before launching.
• Paddle the Fox River
• Take-Out, load boats, shuttle volunteer shuttle drivers back to launch site.
