The Walk Tour Series

Each walk begins at 9am on the 2^nd Saturday of each month until the last tour in October. Tours are approximately 1.5 – 2.5 miles, and one hour plus in length.

Walk #1 – Glacial Park

Glacial Park is 3,400 acres of rolling prairie, delta kames, oak savanna bisected by the tranquil presence of Nippersink Creek, one of the Fox River’s cleanest tributaries. We’ll meet at the Lost Valley Visitor Center which is located in the geographic center of the park near the existing trail system. The Lost Valley Visitor Center is perched on the glacial moraine overlooking the Nippersink Creek valley.

Walking tours are designed for families with children, adults, and seniors who are able to walk for one hour at a moderate pace. A local expert will lead each tour and provide some history and commentary on the outstanding natural features of each tour site.
