Fox River Artist Joel Sheesley Presents “A Fox River Testimony”

August 14, 2022 @ 12:30 pm 2:00 pm

Wheaton artist Joel Sheesley has painted the beauty of the Fox River in all its moods, and is sharing his artwork and experiences with us as he presents A Fox River Testimony – a book encapsulating his 73 remarkable paintings of the Fox River.

Join Friends of the Fox River (FOTFR) on Sunday, August 14th, 12:30 to 2 pm at the Schweitzer Environmental Center 16N690 Sleepy Hollow Road in West Dundee to learn more about Joel’s artwork and experiences along his journey on the Fox River.

Joel positions landscape art as a means to deepen our experience and appreciation of nature. The earth is the repository of all human and non-human history. In taking the earth as motif the artist addresses, through landscape, one of the most consequential subjects of our time.

A Fox River Testimony is part of The Conservation Foundation’s (TCF) Fox River Initiative, designed to help all Fox River Valley residents see and appreciate our river more fully. FOTFR and TCF work in concert toward broadening interest in the health of the Fox River through education and outreach programs.

Remember that together, we work to “keep on fixin’ the Fox.”
