A Fox River Ecosystem Partnership presentation and discussion:

Meissner Prairie-Corron Forest Preserve is the site of Kane County’s first Bioreactor. It is a project unveiled in September 2018 that is a partnership between Illinois farmers and local community partners. Specifically, this bioreactor was a result of the collaborative efforts by Kane County Farm Bureau, Kane County Forest Preserve District, USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service, Kane County, and the Illinois Farm Bureau with some assistance and promotion from the Kane-DuPage Soil and Water Conservation District. Partners will be on hand to help us understand how this underground structure is removing nutrients from the farm-field runoff.
