Combining two activities into one great outdoor experience. Come join us on Oct 8 for our Paddle & Pedal event from 1:00 – 4:30 as we pedal the Fox River Trail to Batavia and paddle the Fox River back to downtown Aurora.

All participants will meet at the store at 12:30 to check in, register, and if providing your own kayak, drop off your kayak. At 1:00 PM we will begin the pedal portion, riding the Fox River Trail to downtown Batavia and then circling back to Glenwood Forest Preserve. After a 45-60 minute ride you will arrive at Glenwood Forest Preserve. Once at Glenwood, you will leave your bike and hop in a kayak for the 2 hour paddle back to downtown Aurora. We will transport all kayaks to Glenwood and have them staged near the water. There is a portage (get out and carry your kayak) required at the dam in North Aurora.  A Rocktown staffer will be on the water for the paddle. After everyone is on the water, we will transport all bikes back to Rocktown Adventures Aurora.  You can expect to be back at your cars around 4:30 PM.

Once we are done with the paddle, we will fire up the grill for burgers and brats, a Hump Day like cookout on a Saturday! Food is part of the package, but beverages are BYOB. Please let us know if you are planning on staying for the BBQ. There is a fridge on site to keep beverages cold. If you have a good side dish or dessert you would like to bring, please let us know. The more the merrier!

The price for this experience is $50 with a single kayak rental, $70 for a tandem or canoe rental, $15 if you have your own single, and $30 if you have your own tandem.  Bring your son and daughter along as we have a few youth (>130 lbs) available. Youth price for this experience is $35. We have 13 singles, 4 tandems, 5 canoes, and 6 Youth (>130 lbs) available to rent for the event.
